The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will hold an exclusive event, “Breaking new ground: Partnerships for more and better jobs for young people” on 27 February from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at UN Headquarters in New York to explore issues affecting policy setting and innovations for promoting youth employment.
The event is organized by UN DESA and the International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the UN Office for Partnerships and the UN Global Compact.
Leading up to the event, ECOSOC has launched a Twitter campaign to get innovative ideas that can help solve youth unemployment. The campaign is also intended to be a medium to ask questions related to youth employment. Participants can do so through a live twitter stream using #UN4youth, through Facebook at www.un.org/en/ecosoc/facebook or via text message at 3472675618.
