UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
High-level commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was held on 17 May 2012. Click here to view more information on this commemoration.

On September 13, 2007, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly. This decision comes as a result of more than twenty years of work by indigenous peoples and the United Nations system.
