On 15 to 16 April 2010, the Bureau of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, acting as the Advisory Group for the projects for the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, met to consider projects proposals received by the Secretariat for funding from the Trust Fund on Indigenous Issues Small Grants Programme in accordance with General Assembly resolution 59/174 of 22 December 2004.
From 2006 to 2010, the Trust Fund on Indigenous Issues has granted a total of 88 projects with a predominance of projects in Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Russian Federation, Central Asia and Transcaucasia and Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Call for project proposals to be presented for the 2011 round will open from 1 July 2010 and end 1 October 2010. Project proposals will not be accepted before or after the indicated dates.
The grantees will be contacted directly by the Secretariat of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues shortly. The following projects were selected for funding in the 2010 round:
