Accreditation of national human rights institutions compliant with the Paris Principles to participate in the Eighth Working Session

Applying for Accreditation – The deadline is 1 June 2017
Accreditation is the formal process by which National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) are allowed to participate in the work of the Open-ended Working Group. Accreditation is granted to A status institutions and their representatives. In accordance with Decision 7/1 “Modalities of participation of national human rights institutions in the work of the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing,” (link to document) accreditation to each session shall be granted, upon request, to NHRIs which are accredited by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and are in full compliance with the Paris Principles, as endorsed by the General Assembly in its resolution 48/134 of 20 December 1993 (“A” status institutions), in line with the criteria agreed upon by the Global Alliance at its nineteenth session, in March 2007.
NHRIs wishing to be accredited to the Open-ended Working Group MUST complete the online Accreditation Request Form. The deadline for receiving this application form is 1 June 2017.
Oral Statements
Please note that accredited NHRIs wishing to make an oral statement are urged to provide six copies of their statement to Conference Service staff members in Conference Room 4 (for interpreters) before the speaker takes the floor. Side Events
NHRIs accredited for the eighth session of the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing may organize side events of relevance to the work of the Working Group, subject to availability of conference rooms. Please send your request for holding a side event to Mr. Amine Lamrabat at lamrabat@un.org.
