Press Kit For the International Year of Youth, the United Nations Programme on Youth (UNPY) together with the UN Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development created a Press Kit with a variety of information, including a background note on the Year and the World Programme of Action for Youth, UN Framework Approach for the Year, General Assembly resolution proclaiming the Year, fact sheets on youth and development issues, and a Frequently Asked Questions sheet. Joint Statement by Heads of UN entities for the Launch of IYY For the launch of the International Year of Youth (IYY), the UN system came together through a Joint Statement, committing to make youth a priority in their organization's work. The Statement has been signed by an impressive 28 Heads of UN entities, calling on the international community to support their efforts, and to recognize the central role of young people in the achievment of internationally agreed development goals, as well as in peace and security. Activities Kit The UN Programme on Youth (UNPY) together with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and the World Organization of the Scout Movement has developed the Activities Kit: A Guide to celebrating the International Year of Youth. The purpose of this Kit is to provide youth with practical guidance and concrete examples to organize and implement activities throughout the Year and beyond.
